Spring Outing (Campout) at Chatfield State Park

07/08-June-2008 (Saturday overnight)

Where: This fun overnight camping adventure occurs at Chatfield State Park.

Directions: One approach is the entrance next to the balloon launch area on the west side. Click on this map for details. From C470, go south on Wadsworth. Don't take the first entrance, which is for the Corps of Engineers visitor center. Take the next entrance on your left and enter the Park. Pay the entrance fee. Go to the Group Camping Loop area and look for your Circle's sign and start camping.

Circle Navigators: Please give your attendance forecast to the host Circle by the April Basecamp meeting to provide a more accurate count. If your Circle is also camping Friday night, you are responsible for reserving Friday night's campsite (call 303-791-7275 for reservations).

Entry Fee: $7, or free with Annual State Parks Pass.

Camping Fee: $0 (free, paid from part of your annual dues).

Check-in/Check-out: We have already been checked-in by the host Circle, so drive directly to the Group Camping Area. Camp where you find your Circle's sign. Check-in with your Circle Navigator. There is no need to check-in at campground registration. Official check-in for campsites is 12 noon. Check-out times for all facilities is 12 noon.

Entertainment/Education: To be announced

Camping: It is up to you whether you pitch a tent, sleep under the stars, sleep in your RV or van, etc.

The Expedition meeting for Circle Navigators and Expedition officers begins right after the entertainment, and includes the Circle of the Year presentation. Location to be announced.

Restrooms with cold running water and flush toilets are next to the group campsites.
