Note: The boys start at 8:00am; they'll present their awards so that they will be done by the time we start. .
Entry Fee: $5.00, which includes the car kit. Contact your Circle Leader. This fee is paid in advance to save time at check-in. If you purchase the car kit at a hobby shop, you'll still need to pay the entry fee (it does cost us to run the derby). . For more details, please email jeff.fiocchi@us.pwc.com .
Check-in: Each car will be weighed and measured. See Rules section below for maximum measurements/restrictions, or check out this previous year's flyer. Only cars meeting all requirements will be allowed to take part in the race.
Circle Leaders: Your Circle will be assigned a block of numbers. Please assign your car numbers to your participants and return your sheet to Jeff Fiocchi. See this year's Excel Spreadsheet. Jeff's email address is jeff.fiocchi@us.pwc.com .

Rules:
• All cars must be newly constructed; last year's car, cars handed down from older brothers or sisters are not in keeping with the spirit of this event!
• Use only the Pinecar (tm) Pinewood Derby Basic Car Kit P370; this car has solid axles – no nails
• Height must not not exceed 4.50 inches (11.43 cm)
• Width must not exceed 2.75 inches (6.99 cm)
• Overall length of car must not exceed 7.00 inches (17.78 cm)
• Weight of car shall not exceed 5 ounces (141.748 g); ballast may be added to the car to achieve the maximum weight
• Axles, wheels & body shall be made from the materials provided in the official Pinewood Derby kit provided to you. Decorative accessories & decals may be used on the cars within the size & weight limitations noted above
• Wheel bearings, washers and bushings are prohibited.
• No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite at the derby prior to the start of racing.
• Wheel seams can be removed by sanding or filing as noted in the building instructions (item 3). The contact surface of the wheel must be flat as it sits on the track. There shall be no grooves, slots, extruded edges or significant rounding of the contact surface which would give the car a competitive advantage.
• The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.
• The car must be free-wheeling with no starting devices.
• No loose materials of any kind are allowed on the car.
